Deep88
Biography

Born and raised in Forlì, Italy, Alessandro Pasini discovered house music in 1988 through bootleg cassettes of Riviera DJs and radio music program of that era. That year gave him both a musical calling and a name Deep88. This name is also a tribute to 1988, the year of the Second Summer of Love, when house and acid spilled from Chicago and Detroit into Europe, igniting a cultural revolution that still inspires his sound today.

For decades, Pasini has stayed true to the essence of house: deep grooves, warm melodies, and soulful storytelling. His sound is rooted in the old-school but colored by Italian sensibility, weaving together Italo-disco nostalgia, Balearic atmospheres, and classic deep house elegance.

In the 2011 he left his hometown in Italy and moved to Berlin, drawn by the citys magnetic energy and its underground pulse. The move coincided with the birth of 12Records, his independent house label, a platform created to give space to authentic voices outside of trends and industry pressures. Berlin became both sanctuary and battleground: a place where vinyl culture was still alive, where nights bled into mornings, and where every basement club carried the promise of freedom. For Deep88, the city wasnt just a backdrop but a catalyst sharpening his sound, challenging his independence, and reminding him why he first fell in love with house music. From Berlin, he carried back not only records and collaborations, but also a renewed conviction: that true house is timeless, borderless, and deeply human.

With albums such as Collecting Dust and The Black Album, countless EPs, and remixes for international artists, Deep88 has carved out a respected place in underground dance culture. His music has resonated from Berlins basements to Mediterranean open-air parties, uniting club-goers through rhythm and emotion.

In the studio, Deep88 favors real hardware drum machines, synths, and samplers keeping his process raw and human: the soul of the machines shapes the music.

On stage, Deep88 (apart being a dj) makes live act set without a computer, building his sets through two Akai MPCs in real time. For over an hour, he reshapes and remixes his own tracks live, creating a raw, unpredictable flow that blurs the line between DJ set and live concert.

Committed to analog warmth, vinyl culture, and independence, Deep88 continues to craft music that resists fleeting trends.
